About the museum
The Mineral Museum in Astana is a collection of minerals, rocks and stone objects from Kazakhstan and around the world: the Urals and Yakutia, Brazil and Morocco, India and Namibia. The cases carry museum labels with the name and the locality.
On this site we show the exhibits as they are in the halls: the name as on the label, the place where the stone actually stands. Hall 8 is online now; the other halls are being added.
What the site already describes
Hall 8, the hall of minerals, is described in full: island cases, walls and columns. Every exhibit has its name as on the placard, its address in the case and a description. The other halls are being added.

How we describe the exhibits
- The name is only what the placard says. Without a placard we do not guess a name from looks.
- The place is where the exhibit really stands: the case, the shelf, the number from the entrance or from the right.
- An article about a mineral appears only after the museum has checked it.
